M3 – Project Award

Gouden driehoek in praktijk gebracht

AIA-REAS OTS B.V., TNO en Defensie werken gezamenlijk aan de ontwikkeling van een mobiele, modulaire munitieneutralisatiefaciliteit (M3). Het Defensie Technologie Project werd op 20 december 2023 ondertekend.

Veilige en circulaire ontmanteling

Binnen het project ontwikkelen de partners een veilige en circulaire ontmantelingsmethode voor overtollige munitie en munitie waarvan de gebruikstermijn is verstreken. De beoogde faciliteit maakt gerobotiseerde uitvoering op locatie mogelijk.

Het project is gericht op een effectiever en efficiënter gebruik van de munitieopslagcapaciteit van Defensie. Daarnaast moet het bijdragen aan het voldoen aan toepasselijke eisen voor het transport van gevaarlijke stoffen en aan de Defensie Operationele Energie Strategie (DEOS).

Cradle-to-cradle

Grip op de volledige munitielevenscyclus

Voor AIA-REAS OTS B.V. vormt het M3-DTP een belangrijke stap in de ontwikkeling van het cradle-to-cradleconcept. De ambitie is om nationale grip op de volledige munitielevenscyclus te versterken en daarmee bij te dragen aan productie- en leveringszekerheid voor Defensie.

Ondertekening en samenwerking

Namens Defensie ondertekende kolonel drs. Kools, Hoofd Afdeling Algemene Inkoop en Verkoop bij COMMIT, het M3-DTP-contract met de heren Zondervan en Van Riel van AIA-REAS OTS B.V.

AIA-REAS OTS B.V. is een joint venture van Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments B.V. en REASeuro B.V., specifiek opgericht voor de uitvoering van het M3-DTP.

Gelijktijdig ondertekende AIA-REAS OTS B.V. een overeenkomst met TNO, dat als onderaannemer aan het project deelneemt.

Gezamenlijke investering

Het project heeft een omvang van circa € 1 miljoen. Defensie en AIA-REAS OTS B.V. dragen gezamenlijk bij aan de financiering.

Het Grote Defensie Verkiezingsdebat: de lessen van Oekraïne

Op dinsdagmiddag 7 november 2023 houdt de redactie van EW een verkiezingsdebat in het H’ART Museum in Amsterdam (voorheen Hermitage Amsterdam) over de toekomst van Defensie en de plannen van het nieuwe kabinet.

Onze CEO Gerard Zondervan vind het een enorme eer om aanwezig te mogen zijn als 1 van de plenaire sprekers, gedurende deze middag.

Aan de orde komen onder meer vragen als:

  • Wat hebben de nationale defensieorganisaties in Europa geleerd van 20 maanden Russische agressie tegen Oekraïne?
  • Wat zijn de gevolgen voor Europa nu de Verenigde Staten laten blijken slechts één oorlog tegelijk te willen voeren?
  • Hoe kan worden gewaarborgd dat minimaal 2 procent van het bbp blijvend aan internationale veiligheid wordt besteed? En moet het niet naar 4 procent gezien de keuze van de Verenigde Staten?
  • Moet de Europese Commissie worden uitgebreid met een Defensie Commissaris? Hoe kan worden gerealiseerd dat Europese defensiesamenwerking niet alleen met de mond wordt beleden?

Raymond Knops, voorzitter van de stichting Nederlandse Industrie voor Defensie en Veiligheid

Politici Nathaly Boelhouwer (voormalig marine-officier en Kandidaat-Kamerlid NSC), Kati Piri (Kamerlid GL-PvdA), Gijs Tuinman (drager van de Militaire Willemsorde en Kandidaat-Kamerlid BBB), Peter Valstar (Kamerlid VVD), Derk Boswijk (Kamerlid CDA) en Martijn Hagoort (nummer 5 op de kandidatenlijst van Volt). Allen op 22 november verkiesbaar.
