AIA-GPMG-7.62×51-Mk1-STD

A belt-fed 7.62×51 mm NATO general-purpose machine-gun system. The current AIA-listed configuration has a 457 mm (18 in) barrel, left-side belt feed and a fully automatic fire-control setting. The wider 7.62 mm model range includes standard, compact and ultra-light versions with barrel lengths from 330 to 508 mm.

The model family uses gas-operated, long-stroke piston systems. Depending on the selected version, features include semi-automatic and automatic firing modes, belt or assault-drum feed, adjustable stocks and cheek rests, a folding bipod, optical rails, back-up sights and mount options. The 18-inch row reflects the current AIA listing. Other rows are separate brochure-listed LMG and ultra-light models; they are not barrel-only options on one interchangeable configuration.

Gas operation

Long-stroke piston

Gas-operated, long-stroke piston architecture with open-bolt operation on brochure-listed models. The current AIA specification lists a belt-fed configuration with left-side feed.

Firing modes

Semi-automatic and automatic

Selected models provide semi-automatic fire for controlled engagement and automatic fire. The current AIA-listed GPMG specifies safe and fully automatic settings; confirm fire-control availability by model.

Gas regulator

Adverse-condition operation

A gas regulator supports continued operation in adverse environmental conditions. Settings and operating instructions are model-specific.

Field-maintainable layout

Documented features include multiple safety mechanisms and quick field disassembly for maintenance.

Feed, stock and accessory options

Feed supply

Belt or assault drum

The current AIA listing specifies left-side belt feed with 50- or 100-round containers. Brochure-listed 7.62 mm models use belt or assault-drum feed; the listed drum capacity is 100/125 rounds, depending on model.

Stock and cheek rest

Adjustable geometry

Stock and cheek-rest arrangements vary by model. The family documentation shows telescopic stocks and an adjustable cheek rest; the current AIA-listed GPMG has an adjustable stock with retracted and extended length settings.

Bipod and mounts

Support and installation

A folding bipod is listed. Mount options include land, airborne and naval applications, subject to the selected model and installation kit.

Sights and rails

Optics-ready configurations

Picatinny rails support optics and accessories. Back-up iron sights and tritium night sights are listed options, subject to configuration.

Muzzle and accessories

Model-specific equipment

Current AIA muzzle-device options are A2 Birdcage or 3-Prong. Other listed equipment includes assault grip, suppressor, blank-firing attachment, assault drum and mounting kits.

The brochure references MIL-SPEC 810 environmental requirements. Confirm the applicable test basis and qualification for the exact model and configuration.
