System 2 – Containerized CUAS

AIA · Integrated Counter-UAS
In development

AIA-CUAS-System-2-[BL]

An integrated, containerised counter-UAS capability being developed for the protection of strategic sites. AIA brings specialist technologies together in a configurable architecture for detection, identification, command and control, and response.

About the system

One coordinated capability for site protection

Small, low-flying and increasingly autonomous UAS create complex protection requirements. A single sensor or standalone response unit may not provide the full picture needed by site operators. AIA-CUAS-System-2 is being developed as an integrated system concept that combines selected sensors, command-and-control functions and response capabilities around the needs of the protected site.

The system is intended for government and authorised institutional customers. Its final configuration remains subject to customer requirements, integration studies, safety cases and applicable approvals.

Integrated architecture

From distributed sensors to coordinated oversight

System 2 is being developed as a vendor-agnostic architecture. Sensors and response modules can be selected according to the site, environment and customer-defined requirements. Existing equipment may be assessed for integration, subject to technical and security review.

01 · Detection

Sensor-agnostic layer

The architecture can combine radar, RF, electro-optical/infrared, acoustic and perimeter-sensor inputs, as defined for each project.

02 · Common picture

Centralised C2/C4

Relevant sensor information is brought together for operator review in a shared command-and-control environment.

03 · Decision support

Human-led oversight

Decision-support functions are intended to assist authorised personnel. Decisions remain under human control and applicable rules.

04 · Response options

Configurable effectors

Response modules are selected and integrated for each approved configuration, based on customer requirements and safety constraints.

System integration

AIA as the accountable integration partner

System 2 is being developed as a coherent system rather than a collection of independent products. AIA brings together specialist technologies from experienced OEMs and leads the system-level configuration, integration approach, industrialisation and support planning.

WORKSTREAMSYSTEM-LEVEL FOCUS
ConfigurationAligning the architecture with approved site-protection requirements.
Subsystem integrationConnecting selected sensors, command-and-control functions, communications and response modules.
IndustrialisationDeveloping the physical and operational concept for transport, installation, maintenance and future upgrades.
Support planningPlanning lifecycle support and controlled capability updates with the customer and specialist OEMs.

Containerised and scalable

Adaptable to the protected site

The development concept uses transportable modules for command-and-control and response functions. Modules can be positioned to suit an approved protection plan and coordinated through a central operating environment.

The architecture is intended to support point protection for an individual asset and future expansion to a broader distributed configuration. Final layout, module count, interfaces and operating arrangements are defined with the customer during project engineering and approval.

AIA as system authority

Proven technology. Open integration. One accountable partner.

AIA brings specialist OEM technologies together within one controlled system configuration. The objective is a coordinated capability in which sensing, software, command and control, communications, response modules and physical infrastructure are developed to work as one system, with AIA responsible for the system-level integration approach.
