Layered Air and Missile Defence

Active RF Seekers for Layered Defence

Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments BV presents SPECTARIS ARH-SA, an active RF seeker subsystem family developed for surface- and naval-based air-defence missiles across layered air and missile-defence architectures.

The published application scope extends from short-range and low-altitude air defence to long-range air and missile-defence systems, including architectures intended to address ballistic-missile threats.

Subsystem Profile

Key Capabilities
  • Active RF seeker architecture
  • Long-range target acquisition
  • Support for air and missile-defence mission architectures
  • High-agility operation in demanding environments
  • Environmental capability up to the hypersonic flight regime
  • High-agility gimballed antenna option
  • Electronically scanned array antenna option
  • Electronic counter-countermeasures capability
  • Performance against small and agile targets
  • Layered air-defence application from short range to long range
  • Surface- and naval-based air-defence missile integration
Active RF Target Acquisition and Tracking

The architecture supports target acquisition and tracking for autonomous terminal missile guidance. It combines an RF front end, antenna assembly, signal processing, target-tracking electronics, and missile guidance interfaces.

Gimballed and Electronically Scanned Options

A high-agility gimballed antenna or an electronically scanned array antenna can be selected according to operational needs and the available missile volume, power, cooling, and processing architecture.

Demanding Flight Environments

Mechanical structure, electronics, radome, and antenna control are tailored to the qualified missile flight envelope, including applicable vibration, shock, temperature, acceleration, and aerodynamic-heating requirements.

ECCM and Agile Target Engagement

ECCM capability supports operation in contested electromagnetic environments and engagement of small and agile aerial targets. Specific techniques, waveforms, frequencies, parameters, and performance values remain controlled program information.

System-Level Engineering

Surface and Naval Missile Integration

Integration covers the seeker-to-missile mechanical envelope, radome, electrical power, databus, guidance and autopilot interfaces, software, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility. Missile-level integration additionally includes the selected surface or naval launcher, fire-control architecture, and engagement chain.

Final compatibility is determined through the contracted missile, launcher, fire-control, platform, shipboard-environment, and full-system qualification program.
