Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments BV presents SPECTARIS ARH-AA, an active RF seeker subsystem family developed for beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile programmes and long-range target acquisition.

The family supports high-agility operation in demanding environments up to the hypersonic regime. A high-agility gimballed antenna or an electronically scanned array antenna can be selected according to the operational requirement and missile architecture.

Active RF target acquisition and tracking

The active RF architecture is intended to support target search, acquisition and tracking for terminal missile guidance without relying on continuous external illumination. The seeker combines an RF front end, antenna assembly, signal processing and target-tracking electronics with the required missile guidance interfaces.

Final acquisition and tracking performance depends on antenna architecture, waveform implementation, target characteristics, engagement geometry, environment, radome performance, missile dynamics and programme qualification.

Gimballed and electronically scanned antenna options

SPECTARIS ARH-AA can be configured with a high-agility gimballed antenna or an electronically scanned array antenna, depending on operational needs and the available missile volume, power, cooling and processing architecture.

The selected configuration, field of regard, scan performance and physical interfaces are programme-specific. No single antenna option or geometry should therefore be assumed for every application.

High-agility and demanding flight environments

The published system profile supports operation under high agility and demanding environmental conditions up to the hypersonic regime. Mechanical structure, electronics, radome and antenna control are tailored to the qualified missile flight envelope.

Environmental limits, vibration, shock, temperature, acceleration and aerodynamic-heating requirements are established during the missile integration and qualification programme.

ECCM and agile target engagement

Electronic counter-countermeasures support seeker operation in contested electromagnetic environments. The architecture is also positioned for engagement of small and agile air targets.
