A specialized low-velocity configuration for close-range counter-UAS applications. The final product configuration, effect, launcher interface, and qualification basis are defined for the intended operational requirement.
Ammunition · 40 × 46 mm Low Velocity
A Dutch-produced family of 40 × 46 mm low-velocity ammunition for established handheld grenade-launcher systems, developed and supported by Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments BV in the Netherlands.
Established Ammunition Class
The 40 × 46 mm low-velocity cartridge is an established NATO-standard ammunition class based on the high-low operating principle and intended for handheld grenade launchers. Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments BV produces a focused 40 × 46 mm LV product family in the Netherlands for European and allied customers.
Production responsibility in the Netherlands places manufacturing coordination, configuration control, quality assurance, and customer support close to the end user. This supports a more resilient European supply base and provides a clear industrial point of contact throughout the product lifecycle.
Product Portfolio
A specialized low-velocity configuration for close-range counter-UAS applications. The final product configuration, effect, launcher interface, and qualification basis are defined for the intended operational requirement.
High-explosive configurations for established 40 × 46 mm LV operational roles, including a self-destruct variant where required by the customer specification and approved configuration.
An air-burst configuration for operational requirements that call for a burst effect before impact. The fuze concept, launcher integration, and performance envelope remain configuration-specific and subject to qualification.
European Supply Resilience
System Integration
The 40 × 46 mm LV class is associated internationally with established handheld launcher families such as the M79, M203, M320, AG36, and Milkor MGL. Compatibility with a particular weapon, sighting system, or operating configuration is confirmed separately for each ammunition variant through interface review and qualification.
The use of an established ammunition class supports integration with existing inventories while allowing AIA to manage Dutch production, customer documentation, and configuration-specific acceptance.
Program Assurance
Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments BV applies controlled manufacturing and quality processes to the Dutch 40 × 46 mm LV series. Qualification scope, inspection requirements, lot acceptance, packaging, transport classification, and documentation are agreed for each contract and product configuration.
Customers can engage with one Dutch industrial partner for technical coordination, production planning, acceptance support, delivery, and lifecycle management.
European Industrial Capability
The AIA 40 × 46 mm LV series strengthens the availability of locally produced ammunition in Europe. Dutch production creates an industrial base that can support national requirements, allied procurement, and long-term supply continuity, subject to capacity, qualification, and regulatory approvals.
