AIA MIDGARD 25

A modular 25 mm airburst Counter-UAS system engineered to create an effective kinetic layer of defence against low-altitude drones, UAS swarms and increasingly autonomous airborne threats. MIDGARD 25 combines a remote weapon-station architecture with stabilized observation, automatic tracking, computer-based fire control and mission-specific sensor integration.

MIDGARD 25 is being developed around one principle: adapt the system to the mission, not the mission to the system. Its architecture supports direct operator control, integrated sensors and progressively automated detection, tracking and engagement workflows.

Configurations can range from direct operator control to sensor-integrated, AI-enabled detection, tracking and engagement support.

Integration options include tactical vehicles, wheeled or tracked platforms, UGVs, fixed positions and containerized standalone deployments.

The C-UAS configuration is designed around qualified programmable airburst ammunition for small and fast-moving aerial threats.

Gyro-aided stabilization, automatic target tracking, laser ranging and computer-based fire control support high-accuracy engagement.

Observation, tracking and fire control

The base weapon-station architecture combines day and night imaging, automatic target tracking, gyro-aided stabilization, laser range finding and computer-based fire-control functions. Integration with external sensors allows the C-UAS configuration to receive programme-specific target cues and operate within a wider sensor-to-effector network.

Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments BV is preparing a dedicated MIDGARD 25 assembly line in Tilburg, the Netherlands. The programme is intended to strengthen European defence-industrial capacity and support future NATO and allied requirements through local integration, assembly, qualification and lifecycle support.

Published base-station specifications are subject to change without notice and stated tolerances are within Β±10%. Final MIDGARD 25 configuration, mass, dimensions, weapon and ammunition compatibility, sensor performance, automated functions and engagement capability depend on the contracted platform, armour, feed system, ammunition, fire-control architecture and qualification programme.
