Job Description:

As the Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that AI Armaments operates within the regulatory framework and adheres to internal policies and procedures. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks while fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organisation. Your expertise will contribute to safeguarding the integrity of our operations and maintaining our reputation in the defence industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including defence and export control regulations.
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including audits, investigations, and training, and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including legal, HR, and operations, to provide compliance support and guidance on relevant issues.
  • Incident Management: Investigate compliance violations and coordinate with management to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: Academic degree (Bachelor’s level) in Business Administration, Law, Compliance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) is a plus.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the defence or related industries, or in a hazardous industrial environment.
  • Language: Excellent proficiency in English is essential, while fluency in Dutch is considered an advantage.
  • Security: Mandatory Dutch background check (VOG).

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for training staff and conveying compliance requirements.
  • Ethical Judgement: Strong ethical standards and integrity to promote a culture of compliance and accountability within the organisation.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel as needed for meetings, conferences and trade events.
