Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments ondersteunt Nederlands-Finse defensiesamenwerking via DCDS-partnerschap

Den Haag / Helsinki, 27 augustus 2025 – Nederland en Finland hebben vandaag een meerjarige samenwerkingsovereenkomst ondertekend om gezamenlijke capaciteiten op het gebied van defensie en veiligheid te versterken. In dit kader participeert Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments (AI Armaments) als een van de deelnemende bedrijven binnen de Dutch Coalition for Defence and Security (DCDS).

De samenwerking, vastgelegd in het Partners for International Business (PIB) convenant, richt zich op de versterking van technologische en industriële samenwerking tussen beide landen. De deelname van AI Armaments is gericht op het leveren van concrete bijdragen binnen vier kritieke domeinen:

1. Smart Ammunition for Drones – innovatieve munitieoplossingen die de effectiviteit van onbemande luchtplatforms vergroten;
2. Loitering Ammunitions – flexibele, inzetbare systemen voor precisieslagen in complexe operationele omgevingen;
3. Counter-UAS-systemen en Remote Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS) – technologieën die bescherming bieden tegen vijandelijke drones en de operationele veiligheid verhogen;
4. Unmanned Systems – autonome systemen die inzetbaar zijn op land, ter zee en in de lucht.

Met de toetreding tot DCDS ondersteunt AI Armaments de bilaterale samenwerking tussen Nederland en Finland op het gebied van defensietechnologie en innovatie. De samenwerking sluit aan bij de gezamenlijke ambities binnen het Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF)-verband van de NAVO, waarin beide landen een actieve rol vervullen.

AI Armaments zal deelnemen aan handelsmissies, technologische uitwisselingen en matchmaking-evenementen die zijn gericht op kennisdeling, co-creatie en het ontwikkelen van schaalbare capaciteiten binnen de Europese defensie- en veiligheidsketen.

De deelname van AI Armaments is in lijn met de doelstellingen van de Defensie Industrie Strategie en Innovatie (D-SII) van het Nederlandse Ministerie van Defensie. Binnen de strategische prioriteit “Sensoren en Intelligente Systemen” levert AI Armaments een bijdrage aan het vergroten van de technologische autonomie van de Nederlandse defensiesector.

Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments bevestigt met deze deelname haar inzet voor versterking van de nationale en Europese defensiecapaciteiten, door ontwikkeling en implementatie van innovatieve munitie- en onbemande systemen die de operationele slagkracht van krijgsmachten vergroten.

Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments supports Dutch-Finnish defence cooperation through DCDS partnership

The Hague / Helsinki, 27 August 2025 – The Netherlands and Finland have today signed a multi-year cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening joint capabilities in defence and security. Within this framework, Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments (AI Armaments) participates as a member of the Dutch Coalition for Defence and Security (DCDS).

The cooperation, formalised under the Partners for International Business (PIB) covenant, is designed to enhance technological and industrial collaboration between both nations. AI Armaments’ participation focuses on contributing to four critical domains:

1. Smart Ammunition for Drones – innovative munition solutions enhancing the effectiveness of unmanned aerial platforms;
2. Loitering Ammunitions – flexible, deployable systems enabling precision engagement in dynamic operational environments;
3. Counter-UAS systems and Remote Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS) – technologies that safeguard forces against hostile drones and improve operational security;
4. Unmanned Systems – autonomous platforms supporting land, maritime, and aerial operations.

By joining DCDS, AI Armaments supports bilateral cooperation between the Netherlands and Finland in defence technology and innovation. The partnership aligns with the shared ambitions within NATO’s Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) framework, where both countries play an active role.

AI Armaments will take part in trade missions, technology exchanges, and matchmaking events, aimed at knowledge sharing, co-creation, and the joint development of scalable capabilities within the European defence and security ecosystem.

This participation is fully aligned with the objectives of the Dutch Ministry of Defence’s Defence Strategy for Industry and Innovation (D-SII). Within the strategic priority “Sensors and Intelligent Systems,” AI Armaments contributes to strengthening the technological sovereignty of the Dutch and European defence industry.

Through this partnership, Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments reaffirms its commitment to enhancing national and European defence capabilities by developing and deploying innovative ammunition and unmanned systems that increase the operational effectiveness of armed forces.
