What to expect on the 29th and 30th!

The 34th NIDV Exhibition for Defence and Security will take place in November, with Damen Naval and Saab as main sponsors.

The exhibition floor will open on November 30th at Rotterdam Ahoy. Here you will be able to explore our exhibitors’ stands and speak to industry leaders, government representatives, military members and foreign delegates.

The day before the exhibition floor opens, on November 29th, we will organise both EDF and global matchmaking. In addition, there will be a series of keynote speeches and presentations from industry leaders and key figures in the Defence and Security Sector.

Gouden driehoek in prak.jk gebracht
Op 20 december 2023 vond de ondertekening plaats van een Defensie Technologie Project
(DTP) voor de ontwikkeling van een mobiele, modulaire munitie neutralisatie (M3) faciliteit.
In het project ontwikkelen AIA-REAS OTS B.V., TNO en Defensie gezamenlijk een veilige en
circulaire ontmantelingsmethode voor overtollige en overdue muniBe, die gerobotiseerd op
locatie kan worden uitgevoerd. Dit leidt voor Defensie tot een effectief en efficiënt gebruik
van munitie opslagcapaciteit en het voldoen aan EU-regelgeving inzake het transport van
gevaarlijke stoffen (EOVA).

Ook kan Defensie hierdoor beter voldoen aan de Defensie
Operationele Energie Strategie (DEOS). Voor AIA-REAS B.V. betekent het M3-DTP een
belangrijke stap in de ontwikkeling van het cradle-to-cradle concept, waarbij nationale grip
wordt verkregen op de volle breedte van de munitie life cycle keten, met als doel het
bewerkstelligen van productie- en leverzekerheid voor Defensie.
Het M3-DTP brengt de gouden driehoek in praktijk: Defensie werkt samen met een bedrijf en
een kennisinstituut om een Defensie behoefte te vervullen.

Namens Defensie ondertekende Kolonel drs. Kools (Commit – Hoofd Afdeling Algemene
Inkoop en Verkoop) het M3 DTP-contract met de heren Zondervan en Van Riel van AIA-REAS
OTS B.V. Dit bedrijf is een joint venture van Artillerie Inrichtingen Armaments B.V. en REASeuro
B.V. en werd specifiek opgericht met als doel het uitvoeren van het M3-DTP. Gelijktijdig
tekende AIA-REAS OTS B.V. een contract met TNO, dat als subcontractor zal deelnemen aan
het M3-DTP. Het project heeft een omvang van circa 1 miljoen Euro, waarvan Defensie twee
derde deel bijdraagt en AIA-REAS OTS B.V. een derde deel bijdraagt.

Op dinsdagmiddag 7 november 2023 houdt de redactie van EW een verkiezingsdebat in het H’ART Museum in Amsterdam (voorheen Hermitage Amsterdam) over de toekomst van Defensie en de plannen van het nieuwe kabinet.

Onze CEO Gerard Zondervan vind het een enorme eer om aanwezig te mogen zijn als 1 van de plenaire sprekers, gedurende deze middag.

Aan de orde komen onder meer vragen als:

  • Wat hebben de nationale defensieorganisaties in Europa geleerd van 20 maanden Russische agressie tegen Oekraïne?
  • Wat zijn de gevolgen voor Europa nu de Verenigde Staten laten blijken slechts één oorlog tegelijk te willen voeren?
  • Hoe kan worden gewaarborgd dat minimaal 2 procent van het bbp blijvend aan internationale veiligheid wordt besteed? En moet het niet naar 4 procent gezien de keuze van de Verenigde Staten?
  • Moet de Europese Commissie worden uitgebreid met een Defensie Commissaris? Hoe kan worden gerealiseerd dat Europese defensiesamenwerking niet alleen met de mond wordt beleden?
